WODL Minifest

This past weekend (July 23/24 2011) we presented ‘The Waiting Room’ at the WODL Minifest in Tillsonburg, where four other groups presented the same show to appreciative audiences. After each performance, a workshop was held where we analyzed the different choices made by each group, and discussed acting and directing techniques. What a fantastic learning experience!

At the end of the weekend, various fun awards were given out. Congratulations to Lauren Burns, John Burns and John Thompson who all came home with individual awards. Several actors also received ‘Improv’ awards for participating in a final performance Saturday afternoon, which combined the actors from several different groups to present a slapstick improv version of the show which was hilarious! Details of all the awards are below. We are very proud to announce that Binbrook won the Playwright’s Award for ‘the group whose performance was closest to that of the Playwright's vision of his play’, the only serious award in the whole festival!!!
